Washington
Washington is home to some of the most beautiful terrain and most wonderful people I have been fortunate enough to interact with. With legendary hills like Mt. Baker, Mt. Constitution, Meteor, Maryhill, and more, Washington is a gem with a strong community to rip the hills there are. Not to mention, Seattle WA and Vancouver BC are both cities with an abundance of skate parks and street spots, so if you cant make it out to the mountains, you can still catch a rip!
Bellingham
Most of my time in Washington was spent in Bellingham. In Bellingham, the longboarding scene is surprisingly active, along with the skateboarding scene revolving around the incredible Unknown Boardshop owned by Zac Garza. Conveniently located 1.5 hours from both Seattle WA and Vancouver BC, there is plenty of skating to be had and multiple active scenes to participate in. Despite the long, cold, wet winters, we get our fix skating indoor ramps such as the one we had in our garage for two years! Big thanks to Sam Galus, Ben Bartlett, Kai Griffin, Stephen Baddeley, Steven Suhama, Jake Stoumbos, Andy Kennedy, Blake McClam, Sandor Voros, Polish Pete, and everyone else who threw down time and money to make our ramp a reality. Also big thank you to everyone who got motivated, went out and started sessions when things were dry. Love you all!
Orcas Island
Orcas Island is a gem nestled just south of the Canadian boarder in the San Juan island chain just off the coast of Bellingham. Home to a couple of lakes, an epic skatepark, some amazing nature, and one legendary run, Orcas Island is a must visit for those looking to experience Washington to its fullest. Every time I go to Orcas I not only have a blast, but I am also blown away by the views and the general laid back vibe of the place.
